Reduction of rewards points after complaint

To Earn points, one has to read PDF's for 10 points each. So its takes a while to reach 4500 points. Using my points (4300) I cashed in for a laptop. However, within hours the point requirement dropped over 1000 points! I complained with a heavy hand, and within weeks got my 1000 points back....However, now the PDF point earners are only worth 5 points. Payback? I think so
