Misinformed about DSL speed and lied to!!

I had signed up for DSL 15 at my new apartment. I spoke to three representatives to get information before I even gave any sort of credit card information. I was satisfied with the information I got so I paid for the installation, shipping and handling of the modem and the service for the whole year. When we started the service, I checked the speed of the internet and noticed that I was only getting 2-3mbps at any given time during the day. I called acanac and finally someone told me that because of the old bell dsl lines in my particular building, I would not be able to receive anything over 3mbps. I was livid when I heard this because that is 12mbps les than I had paid for and none of the three representatives I had spoken to even mentioned that to me. When I tried to complain, the representative told me I had to email billing and couldn't speak to a real person on the phone. Billing was taking days and days to get back to be so finally I got fed up and cancelled my service. Thankfully I was within three first month on my service so I got most of my money back but not the shipping and handling of the modem and the installation fee. I wasted $100 and a month of my time. I would NOT recommend acanac, horrible service and they are not trustworthy!!!
