Purchased a Daikin in fall of 2014. Worst purchase ever, no customer support from Daikin. After a few issues and repairs since purchase, the outside unit 'burned' in December 2017. Not an actual fire as I know, but lots of black smoke and that burn smell coming from the unit (I turned the breaker off). We are 8 months from when I called the first serviceman and still no closer to having it fixed. Lots of new parts and lots of new problems. Customer support at Daikin is no help, will not even speak to you. I never had this bad an experience with a company before, not only are they difficult to talk to, the product they sold me is poor. Never recommend a Daikin. Lots of other heat pumps with better customer service.
