DCH Stands for Delivering Customer Humiliation

In December 2012, I purchased a S4 Quattro from DCH Millburn Audi. I chose this particular Audi dealer which was further away from my home than several Audi dealers, after reading reviews in DealerRater. When discussing my trade in, this dealership made my 8 month old Subaru Legacy GT with only 5800 miles sound like it was a very undesirable car. They offered me $22k for a nearly new $35k vehicle. This dealership cast a negative light on everything positive I said about the car. They even called it basically slow when it was only 1/2 second slower to 60 mph than the S4, had AWD, etc. I decided to go ahead with the trade and purchase. A short time later I found my car for sale at DCH for nearly $34k! What got on my nerves was that they insulted my trade and then proceeded to brag about how great the car was in multiple ads. Descriptive terms they used were “Gorgeous!”, "Turbocharged!" and “Super Rare!” My slow vehicle suddenly became powerful and quick after they obtained it, based on these words: “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Well Jack was never accused of being dull in this Legacy. As a matter of fact, Jack has a little bad streak. And speaking of streaks, looks like he just left a couple more leaving the last stoplight." At this point I was disappointed, but not angry. When I continued to read the ad for my former car, I was shocked to see that the ad insulted me directly! Jake Auslander or some other author [if it’s not Jake, who is the contact person listed in the ad, I will make a correction if DCH tells me which employee is responsible] made some sarcastic, demeaning, insulting and humiliating comments about me RIGHT IN THE AD! Here’s the direct quote: “You don’t have to worry about depreciation on this gorgeous 2012 Subaru Legacy! The guy before you got it all! What a guy!” Yes, he’s talking about me! He’s so proud and excited about his belief that he tricked me that he can hardly contain himself. DCH is publicly bragging that they ripped me off! They even made the same insulting comments about me on eBay, AutoTrader, Cars.com, AOL autos and who knows where else, making me the subject of ridicule nationally! Hey Jake or whoever wrote it, let me ask you a question – how can you call me a sucker for taking all the depreciation on the car when you’re charging almost as much as I paid for it brand new! Beneath the nice guy “Delivering Happiness” stuff lays rudeness, cockiness and deception. On 2/4/12 I checked out their ad for my former car, and the negative comments were REMOVED (but still present on eBay)! And they finally contacted me through DealerRater on 2/4/13 (on the last day of the 14 day "reconciliation period") to attempt damage control. The sales manager Al Khoury tried to pass off the negative comments on a “third party” and did not name the guilty author. More deception. I invited Mr. Khoury to exchange emails with me, but he's scared of putting anything but a generic apology in writing. All he could do was to copy/paste his private reply to me right at the end of the above mentioned reconciliation period directly into DealerRater as DCH's response. How lazy! Prospective DCH customers, ask yourself the question, "Do you want to be treated nicely by people who are just trying to rip you off and are really sneaky, mean and sarcastic, or do you want to do some comparison shopping before deciding to lay down a large sum of money for an Audi? Don't let the phony nice guy stuff fool you!
