Davis Bus Tours

Re: Davis Bus Tour To whom it may concern; Please be advised that on July 17th, 2011 - I boarded one of the buses of your fleet/company with a final destination of Queens, N.Y. for a National League Baseball Game. As a group we were scheduled to board the bus at 8:30 A.M., stop for an additional pick up in Northeast, Pa and then on to our final destination with the game start time of 1:05 P.M. This schedule would have allowed for plenty of time to arrive at the game on time and still provide a buffer for traffic. The bus however did not arrive until well over an hour late and I did not board the bus until 10:05 A.M. and the bus still needed to retrieve the additional passengers at the second stop. We just barely arrived by game start time. I also would like to share with you the deplorable condition of the bus which is what prompted me to write this letter. Upon entering the bus we were automatically hit with the smell of urine that was so strong that it was nauseating from start to finish of the trip. The seats were stained, the vent had layers of dust and the exhaust was terribly loud. As in any long journey, restroom facilities are a requirement for most passengers. I did in fact need to use those facilities. I was sickened by what I saw in there; in addition to the already unbearable smell. There was *** smeared all over the forward facing wall and light switches of the unit. No hand sanitizer was provided and it was not clean. I reported this issue to the bus driver upon late arrival at the ball park. He assured me that it would be taken care of. On our journey home, the *** was not only still all over the restroom as it was before but the bus now smelled worse than it had that morning as the facility had been utilized by passengers and this added to what was already a malodorous stench. Some of my fellow passengers were so appalled by the reeking odor that they were forced into the discomfort of having to refrain from voiding as so not to potentially vomit and be forced to stay in the restroom any longer than necessary. People choose bus tours for many reasons but none more practical then the convenience. Restroom facilities provide the most convenience on group tours. Passengers should never need to feel that degree of discomfort in simply using a bathroom which is part of what you agree to provide to tour guest. Had the bathroom been cleaned up after it was reported to attendant, you would not be receiving this letter. Things happen on the road and sometimes we are unavoidably delayed. This would have never been issue enough to prompt me to write. I did however specifically request something that could immediately be rectified and never was. I am in the business of providing cleanliness and comfort to visitors of the facility in which I work. I understand the importance of clean and sanitized restrooms better than most. Additionally I also know more than most how easily the two bus attendants could have provided service recovery to this group of people who may have recommended this company to others had there been some attention given to request.
