Damages not noted earlier, I got billed $1500

1

I have rented from Cruise America for a 10 day one-way drop off deal. I am renting an RV for the first time, and like the experience of RVing with CR. However, I found out that the lady who gave me the vehicle in the Georgia location failed to make a note of any damages. Usually, I expect the Cruise America (or dealer) to walk me around the vehicle -- like they do at Hertz, Enterprise car rental. However, in this case the lady failed to show me a minor scratch on the right door of the co-driver seat. Infact, the lady was in a haste and sent me off in a hurry with only signed paperwork and showing me where the tank's drain valves are. I have noticed this during our 7th day and informed the customer service(after 120mins of wait time on phone). The customer service agent told me that this is fine and will be taken care of. While returning the vehicle, the scratch was noted as damage and I was charged $1500 on my credit card. The lady at the San Jose dealer was rude, and did not make a note of my concerns. User's recommendation: DO NOT RENT.
