Custom Smart Homes – Many Code Violations

Custom Smart Homes (Lizzio Development Group) oversaw building of a Nationwide modular home. We expected they knew what they were doing. Found out they did not. More than 30 IRC violations were ultimately pointed out by homeowner to builder and the TN Board for Licensing Contractors. Many violations are safety related e.g., stair tread too short, riser variation mixed from 6" to 8" on same stairway, non-insulation contact light housings covered with insulation, flexible dryer vent where smoothwall venting is required, etc., etc., etc. We didn't have trouble with the Nationwide modular home, just the on-site work done by the local builder, Custom Smart Homes. This builder offered to construct known code violations on stairs to try to mitigate a problem they created (2 times), we refused this offer on both occassions. We consider this builder to be both ignorant of, and in blatant disregard of, building code.
