Crossover is gTeam FZ LLC/DevFactory – Stay Away – Don’t Let Their CEO Tell You Otherwise

1

Going to keep this relatively short and sweet. Crossover for Work is the same company as gTeam FZ LLC and Dev Factory. They re-branded because of all the negative connotations around the latter business online. They were formed because their partnership with oDesk/eLance was terminated and/or cancelled. Crossover implements the same mentality as all of the other companies owned by Trilogy/ESW Capital. It operates a "Boy's Club," of sorts. This means that if you were not a part of the original Trilogy incarnation of the late 80's, early 90's, and early' 2000's, you'll have a hard time maneuvering in this company. The leadership team members are comprised of individuals who make-up the original Trilogy founder's network. Do the research, you'll see that most of the top-brass have worked for Trilogy many many years ago and have long-standing relationships with the founder/current owner. Don't let the CEO of any of the companies tell you that they're a brand new business, because they are not. They're operating the same tactics and ploys that gTeam FZ LLC/Dev Factory used - just with a newer and more refined skin (appearance) via Crossover. They're business practices are definitely questionable. You have to install a tracker that takes screenshots of your computer and uses your camera to watch you. You're considered a freelancer - but they have want to exert all of this control over you and provide you no benefits. The only way to achieve the 40 hours offered is through the tracking application. You are not offered vacation or time-off, but expected to work all of those hours. I'm not sure if this is illegal or not, but I would probably implore some brave individuals to reach out the proper government agencies. Some labor/wage disputes perhaps? Maybe even some issues with regard to employee/contractor disputes. Whenever a company exerts control over you - they typically cross that line, and have to offer you benefits and the whole nine yards. These guys are probably skirting the law on so many different fronts - across the globe - enriching themselves through your hard labor! The other issue - these hiring tournaments. They're an absolute scam. They're just a way to ingest data/applicants. They hold these mass tournaments where thousands of applicants apply via popular job platforms like LinkedIn, Stack-overflow, Glassdoor, and many many others. They post on local job boards across the globe as well. I think people should really stand-up and show them who powers their businesses. It's surely not the leadership team members, that's very clear! Send a message to Crossover/Trilogy/ESW Capital. Show them that you mean business. Seriously - why should they continue to exploit workers for their complete gain. They don't offer career development or advancement. (Only for their inner circle.) Discrimination much?
