Cross Jeep Dealership 1501 Gardiner Ln Louisville Ky

I would just like to express how disappointed I was with the way I was treated at your dealership. My level of disappointment didn't set in until I actually left your lot (for the last time I will add). But I just cannot get over it. I have been a Jeep enthusiast all my life. My first vehicle was a Jeep Wrangler and both my daughters will have Jeeps for their first vehicles. That being said, I came to your lot in search of a Used Jeep Wrangler and I was trying to keep my monthly payment around $315 a month. I met with Roy Twyman, who I had purchased a New 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee from about a year prior, and I explained to him exactly what I wanted. He did not have anything on the lot at the time that he could sell me so he started trying to sell me a New 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. I told Roy I could not afford that at the time but he insisted that he could get me in that vehicle for$325- $350 a month with the Rubicon wheels and tires with only $2000 down. HE INSISTED. Roy told me he could for sure do it. I was of course interested and continued to talk to him about it. Three consecutive days I was at the dealership discussing this Jeep with Roy. On the 3rd day I left work 5 hours early, found a sitter for my 6 month old baby and my wife and I went up to the dealership to purchase the vehicle. I had spoken to Roy several times on the phone and he continued to insist that he could get me in the New Jeep for my price range. I had done the math several times and it never made sense but I mistakenly believed him. The Jeep was listed at around $30,000 the Rubicon tires he said were $1,000 so $31,000 with tax title etc estimated at $1,800 that brings the total to $32,800 Minus $2,000 down that brings me to a grand total of $30,800. If you divide that by 84 months, with 2.9% intrest, which Roy said I should get, that comes to $405.58 a month. That is $90.58 more a month than I explained to him I wanted to spend. But, he insisted that he could get me $350 a month, didn't make sense but I continued to listen to him. Luckily, before I went the 3rd day I spoke to a friend who recommended I speak with Jon Cross. When I asked Roy about him he was very annoyed with me and just walked away and no longer seemed interested in me. It was like a light switch. Roy went from acting like my "best friend" to completely ignoring me like he had no use for me which I guess he didn't. Mr.. Cross did come speak with me and I explained to him what Roy had said. He apologized and explained that there was no way I could get in that range for that vehicle. Mr. Cross took the time and showed me the numbers and said that with $3,000 down, and no Rubicon tires or wheels he could get my payments to $420-$430 a month! This was no where close to the $350 a month Roy PROMISED, INSISTED, GUARANTEED which ever word you choose to use. I understand Roy is a salesman and there to make as much money off me as possible but being intentionally misled so badly and wasting so much of my time I cannot understand or forgive. Jon Cross was very straight forward and helpful which I really appreciated. I knew the first day going in that I was not expecting to walk away a "New" quality vehicle and I was OK with that. But I feel like when Roy realized there was not any used on his lot I could afford he pushed me to new by lying to me over and over again. It would have eventually come out though so I really don't understand why he would continue to lie about it. I can only guess was that when it came time to sign paper work he would try to trick me into going over my budget which I knew I wouldn't do.It really hurts me that I had to have this experience at your dealership. I had always enjoyed coming to Cross, minus the service department which is just disgraceful but I wont go into that now, but I highly doubt I will ever return. I am writing you this letter because I believe that the ownership would not find this behavior acceptable considering it is such a reputable place. And I believe without writing this letter you would never hear my story. I really hope this was a limited occurrence and not the type of service that is expected daily. In the coming days I plan on sharing this story with others on the internet, Chrysler headquarters and anyothers who I believe might benefit. Thank You for your time.
