I am writing to share my cruises.com experience. Let me start by saying it's now crystal clear to me why cruises.com has a 1.5 star rating online I requested a full refund for our Azamara Journey cruise (Confirmation number 180-********) based on misrepresentation by a cruises.com agent; Trisha Kirkbride. I requested this refund on second day of the cruise and was denied. I even offered to pay a prorated amount on the time I was aboard, but was still denied. Trisha Kirkbride was well aware this was a trip for my kids ages 18,20 and 21. She assured me and that stated there were a variety of ages on the ship which unfortunately was a blatant lie to get my money and make their bonus or commissions for sales made. Once aboard the ship I learned that this was a senior citizen cruise. Aagin, I took my sons age 18,20, and 21 to enjoy a cruise with others of similar ages we have been on 15 cruises before and never had an experience like this. We asked on the 2nd/3rd day to resolve this misrepresentation and I personally spoke with 10 different managers for a refund, and all of them declined. In addition to the misrepresentation; My son had a medical issue arise while on the ship. In the first 48 hours aboard the ship. Trisha Kirkbride sold me insurance as well that is supposed to cover any issue like this. Unfortunatley Cruises.com failed to tell me that there was fine print on insurance which would not cover medical emergencies that were prexisting. It was a double whammy My son came down with this medical issue only a month before the cruise. He had planned a Europe trip with best friend, but when he became ill I decided to join him with his brother. I didn’t want him to be alone. So in attempt to get this health condition off his mind I had him adjust his trip to take this cruise for the very purpose of me being around in case he needed support and to socialize with his peers. Which doctors advised was very beneficial for his condition. No such peers existed. Ship was 99.5% age 60-80I never would have considered such cruise if I had been informed by the cruise agent that it was all seniors I will be sharing my experience on Yelp , Facebook, Google, Trip advisor , Pissed consumer , Expedia and tv stations. I wrote a book on how to market online (seo online marketing is my expertise) so you can be sure when prospects type in cruises.com they will learn of cruises.com sales tactics. Please note this is not about the $8k I wasted, as I do very well in business. It's the principle of misrepresenting clients and how management handled them . This is in no way a threat I am simply stating to cruises.com I will be exercising my rights to share my experience and I assure you it will reach a giant crowd of individuals searching info on cruises.com as I built the 6th most visited pharmacy site online with 500,000 visitors a month. It will be my mission for hundreds of thousands if not millions of future cruisers to hear my experience of misrepresentation and customer service with cruises.com It's a shame I was both lied to and not taken care of as a customer when I requested my refund. I estimate my review will cost cruise.com’s business probably 500 lost future cruisers per year at cost of $1500 person or $750k lost revenue annually, So maybe the lesson they will learn is that by creating s horrible experience for a client in addition to breaking laws regarding misrepresenting to gain a sale the damages will be significant not Jody financially but moreso to their reputation As a business owner with 100 employees and leader in my field I am astonished cruises.com chose to not take care of the customer. I encourage all cruisers to book directly with cruise lines to avoid such disappointments. Cruises.con has sincerely violated my trust.
