Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union Has Serious Safety Issues!

I currently have a savings account with Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union in Minnesota. I haven't used the account in years, but recently received a letter in the mail from them saying thank you for updating my address. I don't remember updating my address. So I called Melody Reimer, the lady whose name is on the letter, to tell her they had the wrong name on the account because I recently got married. She told me she could help me; she could just change my name for me in the database (never mentioned anything about verifying who I am). And because I don't ever use the account, I didn't have my member number, so I asked if she could give it to me. She says, "Oh sure, no problem, do you have a pen." And she just freely gave me my member number without once verifying my address, my birth date, my social security number, or any other security features that a person is supposed to verify before giving out very sensitive information about a person's bank account. We hung up, and then she called me back a few minutes later to tell me she couldn't just change my name for me; that I would have to fill out a form, go to a branch and show ID, etc. Shouldn't she have known that beforehand? So I called the St. Paul phone number, and talked to a man in member services about closing my account, and informed them that they have a total flake working for them that's freely giving out account information over the phone without verifying who she's talking to. Hopefully she didn't give out account numbers for anyone else! What if some criminal would have found this address change letter I received? And what if they had called Affinity Plus to change my last name, and to ask for the member number? And then she nonchalantly gives out my member number to this criminal on the phone without verifying information?? My identity could have seriously been compromised! Obviously we can never be too safe when it comes to our bank accounts!
