Bank United holds our mortgage, which is almost paid off. I live in Miami and my current homeowners insurance policy expires during hurricane season. I've obtained a policy from an A rated insurance company backed by the State of Florida which saves me $2500 on homeowners insurance. Bank United escrow department declared that it is their prerogative to decline using them, and that the bank wouldn't allow their use. No real reason was given. Now I'm stuck paying a lot more money. Bank United's arrogance, poor judgment and lack of concern for their clients is unbelievable!
