We removed our child from this school program because it was unsafe and our daughter had experienced trauma in the bathroom on several occasions due to poor staff decisions. She had also been injured on multiple occasions and reports were misconstrued to seem as if the staff was in ratio and abiding by their customer service agreement. After speaking with several people at Children of America, we found out our original point of contact was the correct person to handle our complaint. We reported observing several instances where staff was in violation of the company service contract and child abuse. Instead of the company conducting an un-bias investigation and properly aligning with their mandated reporter obligations, they pretended to escalate the issue. However, the original person this matter was reported to had the independent authority to make decisions to keep our daughter safe and provide appropriate customer service as discussed during our initial conversation on January 7th. As a matter of fact, the Orland Park team decided to unnecessarily extend due process and not honor their interrupted service policy and verbal agreement to waive the no-two week fee. They are now attempting not to reverse charges/prorate as tthey claimed they would in writing and waive the near $600 for our daughter to be removed from program until a proper investigation was conducted. It is not acceptable for our daughter to be exposed to danger and retaliation and this is why the Director claimed she would waive the fees once approved by her superiors. However her superior wrote to us it was never their decision but in fact only hers to make. We should not be held to an agreement that the staff themself is not willing to follow. We should not have to keep our child in a situation where we have witnessed abuse only for the Children of America staff to say that our word is less qualified than their on-site colleagues and we should continue to pay for services not received. This is unreasonable.
