CD Complaint

Opened a 1 year CD in mid-June 2019 with maturity date mid-June 2020. Mid-May, sent notarized letter instructing BBVA to close my account UPON MATURITY in mid-June and disburse funds to my external account on record. Sent letter by certified mail so I know they received it. BBVA closed the account in May, disbursed the funds and then took the funds back. It is now 5 days past the maturity date and I have not received the funds. Called BBVA yesterday, was told they were "checking on it" and would call me back by close of business yesterday. No call, no money. After numerous phone calls, secure messaging and certified and notarized letter, BBVA refuses to give me my money back. User's recommendation: Utterly incompetent financial institution. Stay away.
