Care to be mansplained and go back 4 times?
Update by user Aug 29, 2019 This has never been resolved. Avoid the service department at all costs. I have had a/c issues in that car the entire time I've had it - since 2012. I think they knew and have been band-aiding it to not replace it until after the 100K warranty ran out. Update by user Aug 10, 2019 Well, I took it to another mechanic. They were able to replicate the intermittent issue I had referenced and took time to properly diagnosis it. The issue is the clutch on the compressor. Whats the point in putting on valves, adding freon, or changing out a relay when the whole thing is being replaced. Definitely not only money, but a lot of time down the drain with the Service Department at David McDavid. Original review posted by user Aug 09, 2019 Silly me. Nothing like not having A/C in July. Tried to fix it the first time. Put dye in to find any leaks and added freon, Said it was a faulty valve. Didn't fix the relay that is known to have issues. Back a week later, twice. Because the company has a policy that says the mechanic that worked on it must redo the work for free for a customer coming back for the same issue. The mechanic was late. It took over an hour to do something that should have been done the first time. Its a $40 part. Wednesday morning was yet another time. The car rep gets into the car, recognizing the A/C was not working. He was so pleased with himself (the second time) that he found it was turned off. He didn't bother to listen. Fact was I had turned it on and off the night before when it was not acting right. We won't even talk about setting up chat appointments. Save your energy.
