Card Cancellation Complaint

I have an Exxon Mobile card account for over 50 years (1967) and recently found out that it was cancelled for inactivity. I live in Tucson, Arizona where EXXON Mobil has no presence, but have tried to use the card during travels out of the area with no success or explanation until I contacted the company. This was probably a computer generated action, but feel that thy should have noticed me with the intent sparing me the embarrassment of having a card declined at the retailer.
