Cancelled PA Without Notifying my Doctor
I visited my doctor on 9/24. Fast forward 2 weeks - after BOTH my doctor and the pharmacy had called OptumRX and after I had called my doctor and the pharmacy several times. I call OptumRx and am told the same thing as my doctor and the pharmacy - they can't find the request. When I tell the CSR that I have had the same doctor for 12 years, "and if she said she sent it she sent it" I learn that she HAD sent it (on 9/26) - but that OptumRx doesn't do PAs for my insurance so they had cancelled it. Without notifying my doctor's office, since clearly I don't NEED my meds or anything, right? The CSR politely gave me the info for the company that does handle the PAs and suggested I give that to my doctor with a request to expedite it. Meanwhile, I ran out of my old meds but had to get an interim script for it refilled anyway - because it is now 10/9 and I STILL DON"T HAVE THE PA for my new meds. Thanks for absolutely nothing OptumRx.
