Cancellation membership in April but still receiving a charge on my checking acct.

I called and left a message to cancel my membership since the gym was closed in April. I also sent an email message through the website that sent it to the manger in huntsville, al. Since I just noticed that I had a pending charge on my checking acct. I called the office and the manager is out for a week and the assistant manager is not in the gym. The website states that you can call and cancel so I left a message that I wanted to cancel. Also, I have not gone anywhere since the pandemic so I did not want to go inside the post office to send a certified letter. If I could talk to a customer service person that would be helpful. Here is the following message that was sent from the manager: On Mon, Apr 6, 2020 at 8:55 AM Taylor Smith wrote: Hello, and thank you for the email. I hope you are safe, healthy, and well. I am sorry for the delay My name is Taylor I have received your inquiry about your membership, and I can definitely help you with that. I have gone ahead and placed your membership on a freeze for the duration of the closure. Your membership dues have been suspended until we reopen. If you still wish to cancel your membership, I can assist. We are more than happy to accept your cancellation while we are closed, but you will need to send it via certified mail to our corporate address: 111 2nd Ave NE, Suite 1402, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. Once we receive that notice, we will process your cancellation. We hope that you understand that we still do have certain legal terms we have to uphold and need to make sure that your cancellation is processed correctly. User's recommendation: It is very hard to cancel your membership if needed.
