Buyer beware in the Columbia, MD area. We needed an experienced electrician to come in and pick up where a home improvement project had gone bad. We knew the job was complicated and we needed an experienced technician. We decided to go with a "big company" for the reliability, accountability, and experience that we thought Michael and Son would bring the project to get it back on track. Instead all they saw were dollar signs and within 8 hours, they found as many ways to financially take advantage of the situation we were in. They charged us $3,00.00 for 8 hours of "troubleshooting" and an additional $2,100.00 for connecting 1 cable to the breaker because the technician couldn't find the bathroom wire. Not only was the technician incompetent but he was rude and disrespectful. He was unable to explain why I was being charged another $2,100.00 for the job and threatened to walk off the job if I didn't pay the additional $2,100.00. In addition, management was also unable to explain why I was charged an additional $2,100.00, and refused to issue any sort of refund. They killed the golden goose with us. I pulled my plumbing, HVAC, and service maintenance from them. Complete rip off and I would strongly recommend anyone needing electrical work to NOT USE Michael and Son and if you do, don't give them your credit card until you know all of their charges and the job is completed.
