Buy from somewhere else

2

I recently purchased a 175 TXW through the Bass Pro Tracker boat center, and although so far I'm happy with the boat, the "customer experience", not so much. When I decided to buy, I went to the Clarksville store, and the salesman I got was just starting out, so I was patient with him, but the person that I'm assuming was supposed to be the trainer wasn't much help to either of us. The salesman was knowledgable of the boat, just not the selling process. The boat I ended up buying was listed as and S&D, and I asked, and was told 3 separate times that I would get the gift card from the promo they were having, but would not be eligible for the VIP discount card. I was fine with this and proceeded with the purchase. A few days later I got a call from the financial service, and it turns out there were things that the dealer didn't get that they needed. This should have been the first red flag just to drop it and go somewhere else, but, as the salesman was new, I let it slide. Finally after a week, I got them everything they needed and had my approval and was told the dealer would get with me in day or two. Wrong, I ended up calling them, and it was over a week later that I could actually pick up my boat. I got to the dealer, went in, and was going through all of the paperwork. I was down to the last one or two papers I had to sign, and asked about the gift card. It's then I was told that due to the boat being and S&D, I wouldn't get either the VIP card or the Gift card. In hindsight I should have just stopped then, and took my business elsewhere, but I liked the boat, had quite a bit of time invested in the process, and figured through customer service I could get something worked out that would make me a happy customer. In dealings with almost everything else I have bought in my life, this seems to be how things have worked. Wrong again. I contacted Tracker customer service three times before I even got a response, and they obviously didn't give a damn. They had sold their merchandise and they were done was the impression I got. I will never do business with them again, and if anyone asks me, I will tell them to buy from another company, no matter how good a deal the boat may be. I do want to say that the gentleman that took me through the features of the boat, etc when I picked it up was great, I just wish all of his co workers would have been the same, because none of them really seemed to give a damn about my concerns either.
