Burr/Mill Complaint

I have the burr which works fine except I keep finding piles of ground coffee under the machine. Quite messy and takes valuable time cleaning it up after each use. I contacted Mr. Coffee customer service and received a snide letter back with instructions on how to clean it. My son and I had completely taken it apart before I sent my letter to them. It seems grounds are collecting inside the base and the only way to correct that seems to be to turn it upside down with each use, plus a lot of coffee is going to waste. I don't know where to take it locally for repairs and the only way it can be fixed is to possibly replace the base plate. In reading reviews this seems like a common problem. Purchased at Target.
