Last year I fell for their scam. I foolishly bought some antivirus product costing about £3 from them online in a hurry, which gave them access to my bank account. They consequently took about £140 from my bank account without my permission. The first time they did it was a nasty shock, but my bank was understanding and I received a refund. The following month they again took a small sum out of my account without authorisation. My bank couldn't explain what had happened and tried to put a stop to this but to no avail. But again I received a refund. This scenario happened several times during 2020 and then stopped for a while. Three days ago, a year after the first time, they took £142 out of my account again without a hint of authorisation from me. This time a bank advisor said she would stop all payments to this organisation and suggested taking it up with the company in the form of a complaint. So I did and various company advisers tried to insinuate that I was their customer, that I shouldn't cancel my antivirus, and that they would hate to lose my custom. Extremely cheeky, seeing that I had never signed any contract of payment for services with them. I kept spelling out their unlawful behaviour and insisted that they stop taking my money and if not, it will be treated as theft which I would report to an ombudsman. Eventually they confirmed the cancellation of my account (which I never knowingly opened) and said they would not take my money again. Let's see what happens. Should they do it again I will take the matter up with the ombudsman. They refused to acknowledge their wrongdoing or apologise for the distress and inconvenience they had caused. Steer well clear and never, ever click on any notification from these fraudsters.
