Billing and Membership

1

After paying for 3 months of coverage I have cancelled my membership. Having the intentions of of becoming a long lasting member, I'm glad I left. I made a claim on a above stove range microwave and to my suprise, I was denied. My issue is not only the money but shady business practices that target hard working families with promise of protection. I had one of the best plans and added extra coverage to meet my homes maintenance needs. The reason I was denied was abuse. Missing handle and panel is abuse? I explained to them that this microwave is over ten years old and I have 4 young kids that I constantly have to repair things in the house, all being the reason I wanted coverage. Also, the handle and front panel has been broken but we still used the microwave. It was only when it finally stopped working internally is when we made the claim. The listed reason of denial has no connection with the internal functions of the microwave. In my conclusion, I lost 4 months of payments which I could have used the money and bought me a new one myself. I paid the 55 dollar service call and now got hit with a 41.30 remainder because it was denied. This was not mentioned at the time of sign up. I'm happy that I caught this catch and release tactic early and not paid into the plan and something more major than a microwave happens to break, only to be released when you make a legitimate claim.
