billed for a service not received
1
My name is Kennedy Allen. Patient number [protected]. Right now, I am being billed $600 dollars for a service I did not receive. On the bill this service is said to have taken place is 06/04/19. I did not receive the serum on this date, nor have I received it since then. When I spoke to the nurse about allergy shots, I did not get enough information about what the shots really were, just that they were a viable option at this time because I could not do the nasal spray. I was under the impression they were general shots, not special personalized immunotherapy. The staff also did not consult with my neurology doctor- who is a Mayo doctor- as I am a chronic migraine sufferer, and I thought that my providers would be in contact with each other to make sure there would be no interaction problems. There also was no pre-authorization with my insurance company to see if it would cover this treatment or how much of this treatment it would cover. This treatment is very cost prohibitive. I had been told that insurance should cover this treatment completely, so I did investigate insurance paying for it. I did not continue that path since I did never actually receive the therapy and the other reasons listed above, I did not continue to pursue the idea of having insurance pay for it. At no point did I set an appointment to have this treatment done. I should not have to pay for a treatment I did not receive. I have also been in contact with the billing department on a few occasions and have been told have been told that I am responsible for the bill.
