Beware of Unauthorized Prescriptions and Charges

Update by user Apr 01, 2020 Only after writing this review, did Express Scripts contacted me. They gave a final determination. They basically said, sorry about your bad luck and they will not clear the account. Additionally during this pandemic, they withheld new prescription shipments from me, even after I paid for them. I then informed them the Country is in a state of National emergency as is my State. Only then did they ship me the already paid for necessary prescription.I had to contact them twice for that result.I still prefer a local pharmacy, but Tricare makes their customers use Expess Scripts. Original review posted by user Mar 02, 2020 Four years ago in February 2016, a medication was called in to Express Scripts without my knowledge or authorization. A package arrived at my home with a medication and a bill for $49. (I did not open the medication. It remained sealed for almost a full year while disputing the charge.) I immediately called Express Scripts to question the medication, stated I did not request it or consent to receive it. For months I called to get the situation resolved. For months I was told my bad luck, I owe the $49 for a medication I never requested or authorized, or it would be reported as a charge off to credit bureaus. I was then told to contact my Congressman. As a military family of a retired 23 yr. Service Member, I found this situation and response unethical and gladly agreed to write the letter. I did not write that letter, because the following occurred within a week. Finally on October 10th of 2016, an Express Scripts Supervisor contacted me stating the $49 charge had been reversed or deleted. She told me someone had finally researched my concerns, frustrations and situation, and helped me to clear the account with a zero balance. For 3 years my account remained in good standing, being paid immediately for refills and new prescriptions. There were no delinquencies. Suddenly in October of 2019, three years later, an unknown charge appeared on an invoice and current payments are applied sporadically to an unknown entry. It is now March 2020, and I have called continuously over the past 4 months after receiving this "delinquent" charge. Throughout each phone call, most lasting over an hour, not one representative could give me an explanation as to why an unfounded charge would suddenly appear on my account as delinquent. I have requested research into this matter with every phone call. Only one phone call initiated by me last week gave any insight. The representative stated she found an odd entry dating back to 2016, that had been cleared. She said it should not reappear, it had in fact been cleared, and she would be recommending it be reversed. I have since been told no such research can be found, including any of my many calls dating back to Feb2016. I have every piece of hard copy and digital copy sent from Express Scripts with dates, times, and supposed names of representatives with whom I spoke. I have the date, time and notes from the October 2016 phone call, in which this charge was retracted. I spent hours upon hours in doing my due diligence throughout the better part of 2016, and I am now AGAIN doing my due diligence in resolving this unfounded charge that was reversed 3+ years ago. It is unfounded because I never agreed to, consented to, nor authorized this particular medication to be sent to me. Is this how Express Scripts conducts business with its military families and other customers? I always preferred a walk-in pharmacy (Walmart) anyway, but it seems monopolies dictate our prescription needs.
