Beware of deceptive practices

1

I made a reservation on what I thought was a hotel's web site, only to find out that, somehow, I had been redirected to Reservations.com. This was not at all obvious. I made a reservation, but due to a change in plans I cancelled the reservation the following day. Later I found that Reservations.com had charged me a non-refundable fee of $14.99. The site does not inform the user of this fee in any obvious, up-front way. The information is there, but you have to read all the fine print. This is an unethical way to do business, and contrary to how most hotels, travel services, etc. operate. I've learned my lesson, to pay very close attention to the fine print, and will never again make any reservations through Reservations.com.
