Beware of bait and switch tactics being used in Walt Disney World as ways of trying to provide temporary compensation

Recently WDW’s rides have been breaking down left and right at many of their parks. The other day me and my girlfriend got stuck on the splash mountain ride for 30 minutes because the ride broke down. When we finally got off the ride they provided us with compensation and told us that we would have fast passes for the rest of the day. I asked several times what the terms of the compensation were, and I was told over and over that we could use the fast passes for the rest of the day. The employee even seemed annoyed that I would dare to even ask such a question. What he failed to mention was that this compensation would only work for one ride. So he basically lied to us. It’s not like I wasn’t paying attention. I asked him several times and he never mentioned once that the compensation would only work for one ride. Before WDW tries to defend themselves in the comments section I would also like to mention that this same situation happened to my friend. Him and his mom bought Disney World tickets using they’re lame app that they try to make you download. Upon arriving to the gate the app didn’t work and the employees told them that they never bought tickets in the first place. He then had to wait in the customer service line for 3 hours in order to finally be let into the park. After this they promised to compensate him with fast passes that would last “all-day”. However, what they failed to mention again was that these Fastpasses would only work for one ride. They might work all day, however only for one ride. They use tricky wording in order to fool you into thinking that you’ll be fairly compensated so that you stop bothering them. This is a bait and switch tactic which is illegal and dishonest. Next time something like this happens I’m complaining to corporate because Disney World WILL NOT give you fair compensation, and to add insult to injury they will try to trick you into believing that you are receiving fair compensation so that they don’t have to deal with you. I’m not posting this because I got stuck on a ride and had to wait 20 minutes, but because of the fact that people are wasting half their day away waiting in a customer service line, or a worse, just to not be compensated at all. Then again if people were fairly compensated every time a ride shut down/something went wrong at Disney World, then everyone would probably receive free fast passes and the fast pass line would take just as long as the regular line. If Walt Disney knew about the greed that has manifested at WDW he would roll over in his grave. Instead of Disney world trying to defend themselves in the comments, why don’t you try to get a grip on your systems and procedures and stop lying to your guests when it comes to providing fake compensation. And before you try to tell me that I wasn’t paying attention, obviously it was your employee that wasn’t paying attention to my questions because he obviously didn’t answer any of them, nor provide specific details on how I was actually going to be compensated. Disney world needs to get a grip before Universal catches up to them, but I have a feeling that the time for that might be too late. And before you try to tell me that I don’t deserve compensation for being stuck on a ride and having my time wasted, I’m curious what type of compensation you think other people deserve after spending their hard earned time and money just to be lied to and ripped off. I’m posting this in the hopes that other people see it and avoid being lied and tricked in the same way that me and my friend were. I really hope Disney World gets their act together soon, because I love Disney World but I HATE being lied to.
