They advertise Smartstrand as the best carpet for my two small dogs. One week after installation, my dog’s nails snagged the loops all over the house. My dogs are regularly groomed and are not at all active. The independent inspector said the carpet snagging is my fault not a manufacturing defect. Mohawk’s warranty only covers manufacturing defects. However, they expressly warrant their carpet as a pet protect product. Mohawk refuses to honor their warranty. They said they will replace the carpet, but I have to pay for the padding, labor and hauling. Mohawk does not stand behind their product. They should not be promoting a carpet for dogs when dogs can’t walk on it.
