Be aware of Target and Shipt connection

Update by user Oct 31, 2019 This is an update for Shipt. I am very pleased and even surprised at how Shipt handled this mess. I was contacted promptly and the situation was understood and fixed immediately. I was sent an email with a personal contact Jenny, who has turned out to be just about perfect. I really can't say enough nice things about Shipt. I have used my free subscription and it is wonderful to have groceries delivered. Especially in Wisconsin. especially in the snow. At the polar opposite is Target who at first did not respond at all, and then only after I sent a complaint to the BBB. They offered me a gift card, which I could not use online because I still cannot log into my account, despite a month of effort. I've given up on Target. Even their phone rep couldn't get me logged into the website. What a disappointment. What is going on Target? Original review posted by user Oct 01, 2019 When I placed an order with Target, two of the items in my order, without my knowing it, were sent via Shipt, which according to Target rep "automatically enrolls you in Shipt" entailing a $99 nonrefundable fee. I was horrified. I tried to contact Shipt via Target website. no access. I tried Shipt website. I called, a very long wait, and the call ended before being answered. I found another number. Long wait, no answer. I called Target for help, the rep tried to conference in Shipt, again a very long wait. Shipt said they had no record of a Target order, or a Shipt membership. I got nowhere. I tried the live chat . Again, rep said no record until I copied/pasted the email sent by Target laying out the terms of my membership. Round and round we went. getting nowhere. Finally, a supervisor at Shipt sent me an email cancelling my apparently nonexistent membership. This all seems rather a sneaky way to get someone to sign up for Shipt. I will not shop at Target again. Cancelled my debit card. and closed my account. I don't like being scammed.
