In the early evening, my girlfriend and I decided to go watch the Happytime Murders at Galaxy Highland in Austin. The latest showing read as 9 pm inside the app. We double checked before leaving and the movie was still available. At 830ish, in the theatre parking lot, we attempted to check in for that shoring using the app. You’re only able to check in once you’re in the parking lot if the theater or at lease a very short distance. Not only was happytime murders no long available AS PREVIOUSLY PROMISED, but all theatres in the Austin area were totally blacked out and unable to be booked. This happened on my app and my girlfriend’s. So effectively, I paid out of pocket because it was yanked from the app. Customer service proceeds to tell me they will not reimburse me for my ticket because the movie was not available for check in. It was earlier though. Then after asking more questions they admit that what is available varies and gives me a URL that I’m supposed to check INSTEAD OF THE APP for movie times. One excuse after another. This also happened to us when we tried to see Gotti a few months ago. Constant excuses. Do not buy MoviePass. You are at their mercy and you cannot trust them when they claim they will offer a service. They clearly think they’re entitled to change the rules at every turn.
