Badly informed staff at a minimum, questionable integrity
Legacy Furniture in Salinas, California is a nightmare waiting to happen. We went in asking specific questions about the furniture in general and one dining room set in particular. We were assured that everything in the store is hardwood and that there is no particle board furniture. Lies! We grilled the sales lady with questions about what wood each table was made of. Most of the time she was completely uninformed and could only guess. We bought a $2400 dining room set only to discover after it was delivered that it was hardwood-containing PARTICLE board with a hardwood veneer. Worse still, there was damage that my wife noticed only after the delivery guys left. The response? After a couple hours on the phone with the manager and a trip to the store, they flatly refused to fully refund and would only give us either 70% back, or store credit. This, after arguing that we were lied to about the type of furniture in the store and the table we bought in particular, as well as the damage and shoddy workmanship (Chinese) we noticed after delivery. Crooks! Stay away!
