Bad Quality-Bad Customer Service Response

This review is for a friend of mine that I play billiards with once a week. This gentleman is 90 years old. Two weeks ago we got together to play and I noticed he had new footwear. When I complimented him on them he said he has never worn them before, but has owned them for about a year. After a while we noticed pieces of material on the floor, that were actually causing scuff marks on the tile. I looked on the bottom of my shoes and had nothing. When he looked on the bottom of his, we found it disintegrating. There was a visible hole that went past the brown sole and we could see a white material. I told him he needs to contact Timberland because this was most definitely a defective shoe. When I met up with him last week I asked him about his Timberlands. He told me that they determined that the boot was more than one year old and could not do anything. Well I was pissed! If you were to see these boots you can tell they have not been worn. These are defective boots and should be replaced. So now I am looking for avenues to make this complaint known to the wider public so that other people don't end up with defective boots. I will monitor places that I have put up the complaint, and if anybody has any suggestions please post. For now I have also come into contact with a friend that has a youtube channel that has 80,000 plus viewers who told me he would be glad to work with me on putting something up on his channel and getting the message out. A company selling defective products needs to be exposed for what they are.
