AWFUL, Disrespectful, unprofessional Customer Service and Animal Care

After having 10+ pets enrolled in Banfield Animal Hospital care ranging from 4-12 yrs, being charged their Member Rate of $25 PER MONTH PER PET, these people have gone too far! I bought a gorgeous bulldog puppy from Missouri. I had her 9 HOURS before I felt a possible respiratory issue. I arrived at Banfield at 5am to be there when they opened for lil girls immediate care. Well I did receive immediate care. Their unhappy, miserable staff at front-desk quickly enrolled me in the monthly plan, as I had w/them for upwards to 12-yrs prior w/other pets. Soon thereafter, the Banfield Dr advised me that my puppys breathing issue may be legit. I paid just under $500 for just that days performed tests (results pending), Banfield Dr suggested I take her to VCA Animal Hospital for better, proper treatment. (A day or so later Banfield received the test results back from that brief stint and notified me of an additional $700+ due for those tests, which I paid, as I was still praying and optimistic shed survive). So I did. For 8 days my little girl stayed at VCA fighting for her life with every agonizing breath. I communicated daily w/the initial Dr at Banfield who I feel, truly did care about my pup. On day 8, I couldnt make her 9-wk old body suffer anymore and had to make the awful, heartbreaking decision. So after 8 days, $5000+ in vet bills to save her, she never came home again (that didnt include the price to purchase and transport her). Its a sad story, unfortunate and extremely rare but it happens. Months later I learned Banfield went ahead and while shed been w/them for only 3-5 hrs (that again Id paid significantly for unrelated to the Monthly Wellness Program) they were charging me that $25 monthly fee knowing full-well shed passed away. I went and spoke w/the caring Banfield Dr (who told me to take my pup to another Pet Hospital for proper attention!) to let her know of the charges. From her advice, I started making calls to Banfields Northwest Headquarters. I sent repeat emails requesting response. I EVEN WENT AND MADE CALLS FROM BANFIELD HOSPITAL PHONE, W/THIS CARING DOCTOR BY MY SIDE. STILL, no answer. No Response to voicemails left. Meanwhile I kept seeing that Banfield was certainly in the office as those $25/month charges were steady! After roughly 10 months (and after Id lost my wallet w/the CC Banfield had on file), a lady from Banfield calls me- Finally, right! Yeah! NO. This woman was rude & demanding of a new CC for payment. I explained the full situation, specifically regarding the heartless monthly fees that their own Dr agreed I shouldnt be charged for. This lady chuckled, told me about Policy and how other pets had died suddenly after only 30 minutes of owners signing the Monthly health form and had to Pay (as if I should feel Lucky!). ZERO CARE FOR CUSTOMERS; LOYAL, REPEAT CUSTOMERS AT THAT, OR THEIR PETS! I told her of the absurd amount of attempts to reach Banfield Headquarters, including the multiple attempts W/their own ON-SITE Staff in support of my gut-wrenching situation. She responded screaming at ME that Staff has no right to be giving out that private number!; which of course Id kept. She went on further disrespecting what my FAMILY had been through, which included a weakness statement about my puppy, so I hung up. No one has time for that. Banfield then went and did a full-on assault of my credit with all agencies, and they ruthlessly double-timed their submissions to the credit agencies.s ALL THE WHILE UNDER BANFIELDS MONTHLY PET WELLNESS PLAN, the honest, caring staff advise you to take your pet to a different Hospital to receive proper Care!! User's recommendation: AVOID BANFIELD AT ALL COSTS!
