Avoiding Warranty
1
I purchased a PGT Windguard 750 Double French door and had it installed in my front door in 2013. The locking mechanism jammed in the open position 4 years into the 5/10 year warranty. After multiple emails and phone calls over a 3 month period with Maggie Powell Consumer Affairs PGT and Aaron Anderson from M & A Windows, I was told the "sales order was not valid or incorrect" and was sent a quote for $190 for the part. Meanwhile I was unable to lock my front door for 3 months (not a good thing when you live in Miami). I would not recommend using any PGT product when the locks go bad in less than 5 years and they refuse to honor their warranty.
