I wish I had checked the reviews before I booked. Like many others, I had never had any problems hiring a car abroad until I used this firm. Upon collecting the car I was given a different one to what was booked as all theirs were out so they had hired in from another company to fulfil my booking As it states on the booking "or similar" I was ok with this albeit a little disappointed I didn't get the make and model I thought I was getting. Inspection on collection was very slack to say the least. The guy handing the car over hadn't checked it at all and was wanting me to sign for it with no damage having been identified.I challenged this of course and was invited to complete a very quick visual once over of the car before he said "see - no damage". Having cast my eye over every panel as he did I was relatively happy as they seemed quite laid back about it all. On return however, this was a totally different case. At this point I should add that i am a careful and competent driver and having driven many times abroad it comes as second nature to me and there had definitely been no incidents or scrapes. This time though it was now two of them doing an inspection and it took a 2-3 of minutes doing a touch and visual test of every panel on the car. I was still confident there would be no issue unless there was some scratch or car park ding happened on on of our few shopping trips. What then happened was the same chap that carried out the collection check got out his mobile phone and then did an underbody video of the car. At this point a small scrape on the front spoiler about 30 to 40mm long was identified. This of course was not visible unless you were to lie on the floor and look right under the vehicle. Oh how their attitude now changed. I had signed the inspection sheet with no damage and no they had found some. No protesting or pleading helped and they charged me 150 euros on my credit card for damage I am adamant I never caused and would have been present when the car left their premises had they bothered to carry out the same level of inspection they did upon return. Of course, now I have read the reviews I can see what I let myself in for. Please do not get legally robbed like so many of us have done - use any other firm just not this one. They lure you in with unbeatable deals then they scam you for damage on return. Very unhappy and very unrepresentative of all our other Greek experiences. Please avoid Green Motion.
