Attempt to receive a Lien Release Letter

In preparation for a house closing, we requested a lien release/loan forgiveness letter from CitiMortgage. We were redirected to Cenlar, a company we never heard of. Neither CitiMortgage or Cenlar had record of our loan...but there is an existing lien?? How does that happen?? User's recommendation: Avoid Major/Large Lending Institutions. They lose you and there is no personal touch!
