Apple Iphone broke due to charger purchased from London Drugs

On Saturday June 16 2018, I bought a charger from a London Drugs (LD) store in Delta, BC. I plugged the apple certified charger into my car adapter and it immediately fried my phone. After ensuring that my phone was fried I returned to London Drugs to return the charger. A fellow by the name of Kevin met with me and provided me with excellent customer service and passed my complaint over to the head office. A representative named Linda then called me a few days later. She immediately told me that London Drugs was not responsible and that I should contact the supplier, Gentek, instead. I disagreed with her, so she lectured me about how I did not need a phone, essentially telling me that I was an irrational millennial (this is obviously not her place). After arguing with her, she finally agreed to send my phone to the supplier to have it tested to determine whether the cord had actually fried my phone or not. A week later the supplier (Gentek) informed her that the cord was not the problem and that my car essentially broke my phone, even though it had not broken any other products of mine (insert laughing/screaming emoji here). So, she then called me to tell me that London Drugs was not responsible adding that I was not even a credible person because I gave her two different stories about how the phone broke - which was an irresponsible attempt to discredit my story in order to absolve LD of any responsibility . Additionally, she further tried to discredit my complaint by claiming that the screen was replaced a year ago from a non-apple repair shop and that this was the likely cause of my phone being damaged from the LD cord (sounds crazy, hey???!!)... After arguing with her she finally agreed to repair my phone. BUT, it has been over two weeks since my initial complaint and I have not had a phone since.. Also she told me that this issue may not be resolved for 1-3 months. I am not the type of person to complain (because I am a very busy student), but this time around it is just necessary. I will never ever visit another LD store ever again. And I encourage the public to do the same. Best, Angry Customer
