My GE Andora stove has silver "Plastic film" covered knobs. Because of daily use, the knobs get greasy. I tried to soak them to help get the grease off. Instead of the grease coming off, the silver Plastic film came off exposing a white plastic knob. This is unacceptable for the price I paid for the stove. If you are not going to put stainless steel knobs on the stove, the plastic should at least be the same color as stainless steel. VERY disappointed and would like replacement knobs.
