My son who has disabilities has a goverment phone and the carrier is alltel. About two and a half years ago people on his contact list started getting spammed. He had been spoofed. He contacted alltel and told them and they said ok we will reset your phone. Well that did now work. Then they said they would send him a new sim card. That did not work. Then they said they would send him a new phone and that did not work. So finally they said they were sending him a special sim card that will block the spams from going out to his contact's. That lasted about two months. So he of course he contacted them again, and then sent him another sim card. Keep in mind it always takes four to six weeks for him to receive the sim cards. Well the last one he received stopped working after a month. He called him and they said they had a system failure, and it would be fixed in about three weeks. Well it was fixed and they told him they had to send him another sim card. He is currently waiting for it to come. He is also currently looking into having the goverment find him another carrier but it is hard to find a decent one. BUT DO NOT I MEAN DO NOT EVER HOOK UP WITH ALLTEL THEY ARE THE WORST PHONE COMPANY OUT THERE. I know about the spams because I am one of his contacts of course. They just keep going and going and going. What they should do is give him a new number as I am sure this whole thing is because the spammers are using his number.
