Allowing Fake Reviews for Money

2

About to buy from a web store we had never heard of before, we Googled the store and ended up on ResellerRatings.com. We trusted ResellerRatings' 4.5+ star rating of this store, and made the decision to purchase from this store because of this amazingly high rating. A week later, we found out that the store had sold us a defective product, and refused any support or refund. We Googled the store again, and this was when we realized that every other review/rating/complaint site on the web could have warned us about this retailer - the reviews on ResellerRatings were completely inconsistent with hundreds of other reviews on other sites. Then, we decided to do some more investigation, and found National chain stores which have 5 star ratings elsewhere, to have one star on ResellerRatings. After our poor experience and much investigation, we believe that ResellerRatings is not properly policing or monitoring their reviews, and allowing resellers to modify their own ratings in exchange for payment. Here are two examples: Example one: Brickhouse Security - ripped my family off and laughed at us when we asked for a refund ResellerRatings: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/BrickHouse_Security What we found elsewhere after being ripped off: /link removed/ http://www.amazon.com/Locator-Brickhouse-Security-Distance-Featured/product-reviews/B001GB5Q88, http://brickhouse-security-reviews.measuredup.com/3877, /link removed/ http://uaddit.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=7102, http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/brickhouse-security-c146216.html, Example two: Victoria's Secret - great ratings elsewhere, always a great experience for my wife and her friends online and in the stores ResellerRatings: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Victoria_s_Secret Elsewhere: https://www.google.com/products/seller?zmi=victoriassecret.com, http://venturebeat.com/2013/02/12/amazon-apple-and-yes-victorias-secret-dominate-the-mobile-shopping-satisfaction-ratings/ Examples like these two make it easy to see how ResellerRatings is either allowing, or participating in, the deception of consumers all over the world. I will be speaking to attorneys about organizing a class-action lawsuit.
