Allianz is a poor excuse for insurance.

December 2017 we bought Amtrak tickets RT Oakland to Portland for June 2018, along with non-refundable air from Hawaii. We had hotel reservations in both cities. A week before departure, Halftrak cancelled both legs of the journey. We bought last-minute air tickets and flew between the two cities thinking we had insurance. Allianz didn't pay a dime of the $1700 extra because it was an "interruption." We claimed only the items we had missed on the train, such as food, lodging and transportation. The trip never got started because the train was cancelled! How is this interrupted? Amtrak is worthless and Allianz is no better. Save your money or use a real insurance company.
