I have made repeated attempts to communicate via the secure mail server provided when I login to my account. I have no phone and very minimal access to Internet. I have alerted Discover to their error in allowing a nearly $2800 charge to be made to my secured credit card with only $500. The card was left in the rental car. It was reported lost/stolen and a new card reissued and mailed. The lost card was not usable any longer. Discover put a charge made by someone at the rental car company through for an amount nearly 5 times the limit on a secured card account opened specifically to build credit. I had a Discover bank account that I had linked and they kept trying to pull money from the bank account until it had negative balance and derailed my carefully planned budget with fees and bogus charges. I was unable to resolve this because they refused to communicate via the secure mail server even after it was clear the transaction I was referring to and all requested criteria was provided they stated that the details were missing that were not missing. I was unable to communicate despite several attempts so the time limit expired. I am a survivor of domestic violence. It has significantly reduced the momentum I was trying to build up before the perpetrator is released from prison in 2019. I get no cooperation from Discover and now this is made it impossible for me to get hired. Each job I complete an interview with and reach the offer stage, checks my credit and Discover has reported it 2 times so it looks like 2 debts. I am trying to resolve the discrepancy with the rental car company, but they apparently can fluctuate the daily rate egregiously with no notice to the renter. I have documentation to support the rate I was promised as a Gold member. Not sure how this happened with a small $500 secured card.
