Accident occurred March 3, 2019. May 21, 2019 still no resolution

The Metlife customer was cited for the accident by the South Carolina Highway Patrol. I called Metlife the next day and was told that they were not accepting liability and that I should turn it in to my insurance. My 2017 Ford Flex was totaled and I had to rent a car for the 1st month. Metlife told me that I would have to pay for this and they would determine if they were responsible. As of May 21,2019 Metlife has not reimbursed me for over $2000 in rental charges. My Ford Flex is still in the yard at the tow company and the charges are over $3000. I received a letter from the Metlife claim adjuster today stating that they are attempting to establish and /or verify all special damages. I called the Metlife number :(800) 854-**** extension 4353 and left a voice message . I have never received a return call from this claim adjuster. After over a month I went ahead and bought another car because I was afraid of a larger rental bill that I would not be reimbursed. As of today Metlife has yet to reimburse me for any of my expenses and they do not return phone calls. I own a trucking company and deal with many companies and Metlife has been the worst experience that I have ever had. Companies like Metlife are one of the reasons that people need attorneys.
