Update by user May 08, 2020 ADDENDUM TO PREVIOUS REVIEW: MIT Federal Credit Union is even worse than I thought; in response to my complaint against them with the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), their interim CEO filed a reply full of lies, fabrications, untruths, misstatements, and slanderous comments. Take this one example: in better times, they had invited all members to apply for open board seats, which I did; then their staff emailed me that all seats on the Board were filled, which was untrue, as I had applied the same day I got that initial email -- so I got an apology from the MIT FCU staffer handling Board applications. So far, so good -- except that this despicable interim CEO then told the NCUA that I had "threatened" her staffer handling Board openings: A TOTAL LIE!It seems MIT FCU has no limits on how it abuses its members! Take Heed and BEWARE THIS HORRID FINANCIAL INSTITUTION! MIT FCU STINKS ON ICE! THEY HAVE SHAMED MIT ITSELF, ALSO! Update by user May 03, 2020 The so-called MIT Federal Credit Union is far worse than I thought; upon trying to contact their Board chairman, as an MIT alum and MIT FCU member, that unworthy leader refused my certified mail packet of papers, instead crossing out his name and address with a magic marker pen. When I complained about that abusive misconduct and mistreatment of his own firm's member, my complaint to the so-called MIT FCU interim CEO received zero response from her or anyone else there. That refusal to even look at a member complaint is shameful, as is their total non-response to valid member concerns/issues; this is the clown car of credit unions, and deserves to be shunned by MIT alums and the public alike! Original review posted by user Apr 03, 2020 As an alumnus of MIT, I had joined their federal credit union and agreed to take out their MIT FCU VISA card -- but without my knowledge or consent, they sold off that same card to a for-profit firm totally unaffiliated with MIT and its Federal Credit Union. Since then, my own school's credit union has put me through *** by refusing to take any responsibility for their fake VISA card, with adverse changes in terms, while still pretending that it is an actual MIT card. Shame on MIT Federal Credit Union; they are untrustworthy! User's recommendation: Beware MIT Federal Credit Union and avoid its credit cards!
