A waste of time and money – worst service and experience ever

What a scam! I got this warranty as part of the deal when I bought my house. Needless to say, I am not renewing the contract and would not recommend Long And Foster Home Warranty to anyone. My washer broke a week after I moved; 3 weeks later the claim is still "in research" when since day one I was told by the technician that the parts to fix the washer are discontinued, the repairs would be more expensive than a new washer and he would recommend a full replacement. The technician warned me that home warranty companies will do anything to not replace appliances and he was correct. I've been on the phone eternally trying to get someone to help me and always get the same response from customer service "call within the next 24 to 48 hours". I am told the issue can't be escalated, there is no one else to talk to, the website is no help at all, the contract terms do not indicate the response time, etc. This company clearly is set up to take advantage of people who don't know any better.
