A Protect Auto Warranty – Auto Warranty Review from Chatham, Ontario
This is a scam! When I first purchased this warranty from a small auto dealer on Martin Grove and Taber, they said I may go to any mechanic shop to get a free estimate on repairs if needed. When I contact A-Protect Auto, I was told that I would have to go to the "authorized repair facility", I was given a number to call, I was shocked that they only had one "authorized repair facility" in all of Toronto and it is located in Concord. A few days later after dropping off my vehicle, I received a call from A-Protect, a man by the name of Gino told me it would cost $2500 to rebuild the transmission on 2003 Yukon. I had already gotten quotes from other tranny shops and was told $1500 - 1800. The dealer quoted just over $2000, so why is this "authorized repair shop" is charging so much!? They mark up the price so that the warranty doesn't have to pay a thing, the fooled customer ends up paying full price, and then some, because after the deductible the warranty doesn't cover much! I only purchased the warranty because my boyfriend had recommended it, but I should have known that auto warranty doesn't cost a few hundred!
