My husband and I took out the June of 2012 at our old residence. This was through a different company and we were switched to Monitronics. Our area had a flood and we moved out of that home to our current residence. We were forced to keep the monitronics service because we had not paid for 5 yrs of service. Then when we moved they made us sign a new contract for 5 more years. This is a ripoff and I tell everyone not to use this company. We are close to the end of our 5 years and I am waiting to make the call to tell them to step off. Sort of nervous now that I read that people can't even get them to stop taking payments at the end of terms. I for sure will be alerting my bank after I make my final payment. DO NOT get involved with the long term contracts with this company.
