2011 Kia Sportage

My 2011 Kia Sportage 2.0 (Theta II) AWD engine seized at just under 140000km due to oil starvation. On further inspection I discovered that almost 2 million 2011-2013 Kia Sportage vehicles were recalled due to exactly the same problem - Recall number SC 147. This was due to the engines not being properly flushed after machining and the metal shavings then caused the bearings etc to wear immaturely and starve the oil, which then seized the engine. The vehicle was serviced every 15000km at KIA motors until 100000km when the vehicle came out of warranty. My question is, how can KIA South Africa say that SA was not affected by this recall when it is exactly the same problem?? So I am now sitting with a R5000 a month paperweight, still owing the finance house in the region of R100000.00.
