Selling fake cables
In June I went to Port Moody, but forgot my phone cable. Since the phone had a USB type C which is not yet very common, the only place I found it was the RD Electromics store located in the Ditton House. The cable was quite expensive - CA$ 14. Remax RT-C1 with USB 3.0 specification on the box, blue USB connector (as should be USB 3.0), SS (super speed) inscription. Well, what to do, I bought the phone somehow. Charged normally, so that the phone was only with USB 2.0 speed, I did not notice anything unusual. Now I bought a new phone, I see that data is being sent slowly with this cable. I looked at the USB connector, but there are only 4 contacts. Like the old USB 2.0. I measured the resistance between the two ends of the metal (I'm an electronics engineer), no contact at all. Cut the cable in half, there's only 4 wires, not even a screen. This s... ds does not even meet the USB 2.0 specification. Miracle that the wires themselves are thick enough for a fake cable, so they charged normally. The Remax company looks real, so I think RD just just sold me a fake.
