Exchanging damaged currency bills
Update by user Feb 15, 2021 I was contacted by the US Treasury Dept and was told that they (PNC) were using an outdated Web page. They are accepting new cases of damaged bills and water damage was never refused. Original review posted by user Jan 16, 2021 I did not get to speak to anyone about my situation. I am a little pissed that I stopped by the PNC bank and asked if they would exchange my deterated bills and in turn send them to the Treasury Dept and I was told yes. I went home and brought them back and lady at the counter told me they can't do it. The lady that originally told me yes was not there. So I told her I read online that they were not accepting ( Treasury Dept) turn in by regular consumers but the banks can do it and they would accept the bills from them. They did not want to hear it. Oh well, time for a new bank!! User's recommendation: I dont know what to suggest other than call first.
